The Roger Washburn invitational that was supposed to be Friday 4/26 was moved a day earlier to Thursday 4/25 due to the threat of bad weather. It was a good move, we had a beautiful evening for throwing, jumping and running. The Olympia girls team finished 6th out of 13 teams. We have been battling some injuries and sickness so we weren’t able to run our normal line up. Those who needed to, stepped up and we brought home several medals and lots of PR’s! The 4x1 team (Mya Dowsn, Charlee Durham, Madyson Bridgeforth and Palmer Scheets) ran another PR and finished 5th place The 4x8 team (Amanda Gonzalez, Amelia Kistner, Kaylie Dare and Emma Swartzendruber) ran our fastest time this season of 10:18.3 which is just 3 seconds away from state qualifying they also finished 2nd place. Kyra West threw an amazing distance of over 112 ft to bring home a 1st place medal. Kaylie Dare finally got that sub 6 mile! Sidney Beavers and Kamryn Rader both ran a strong 3200 and both PR’d Emma Swartzendruber and Amanda Gonzalez finished 2nd and 6th in the 800 both running a PR The track team has conference at Pleasant Plains this coming Tuesday then the girls have one more regular season meet and we move onto sectionals on 5/8

The freshman baseball game scheduled for today at Washington has been canceled.

Today's Activities

Varsity baseball gets a conference win on the road at Riverton tonight. Dabney and Kleinschmidt 2 hits apiece. Hohulin, Kindred, Brammeier and Olson with a hit each. Rinkenberger (4IP, 1ER) gets the win. Dabney (3IP, 3K's) picks up the save.

The varsity and JV softball games scheduled for today April 26th at Normal West have been cancelled. Freshman baseball at home vs. Peoria Notre Dame is also cancelled.

Spartans slay Cardinals! Girls soccer gets a big home win last night 7-1 against Warrensburg-Latham! Freshman Elyse Eimer with the hat trick on the evening. Goals also came from Junior Raquel Birky adding 2, while Senior Rachel Andris and Junior Paytn Talbert both blast 1 home. Junior Sophia Thomas adding 6 more saves to the season total. Girls back in action tonight, 6:00pm in Lincoln!

Varsity baseball couldn't hold on to a 3 run lead and fall 8-4 at Porta tonight. Kindred(3H, 2 RBI), six others with a hit apiece. Alford(5.2IP, 1ER, 6K's)

Great job JV BB beating Dee-Mack 10-0. Defense played solid &the pitching by M LaBelle kept them on their heals w/9 strikeouts,0 walks, &only 2 hits. B Tackett caught a solid game. Hitting stars B Fairburn w/3hits, B Tackett w/2hits, &M LaBelle with 2 RBI's. Way to go!

Holding baby chicks with some amazing third graders was the highlight of the week!

Varsity baseball loses a tough 4-1 10 inning game vs #11 Maroa Forsyth. Dabney, Hohulin and Brammeier with a hit apiece. Kindred (7IP, 1ER, 4K's) Spartans on the road tomorrow at Petersburg PORTA 4:30.

Today's Activities

Our FFA Livestock Judging team placed 3rd out of 117 teams at the State contest! Freshman, Trayson Miller led the team and was 14th individual out of 545 students! Blake Buatte finished 26th, Libby Shaffer, Reed Naughton and Rylee Robb rounded out the team. Congrats team!

The freshman baseball game today at home vs. Lincoln has been cancelled. The varsity baseball game vs. Maroa-Forsyth and the Varsity/JV softball games vs. Maroa-Forsyth are postponed to tomorrow.

The middle school track meet for today at Olympia and the high school track meet today at Auburn have both been cancelled.

Tough loss for JV bb today losing to Maroa-Forsyth 15-7. Losing pitcher B Tackett and B Fairburn in relief. Hitting star of the game was Bobby Fairburn with 2 hits. B Tackett and J Martin each had an rbi a piece. Freshman game at home tomorrow against Lincoln.
